Today is my last day in Peru. We have errands to run and places to eat at. Much of the work this year was cleaning sherds from a mold that managed to creep into the bags and attack the pottery. I decided each moldy bag had a "seed sherd" or one that seemed to be so bad it had started it all. This arybalo neck was probably the worst of the year, it could have been responsible for all the moldy bags.
My favorite pots of the season came out of last year's excavation and were pulled aside for us to look at (as opposed to analyze or process). This small arybalo... Normally they are about this size or bigger: And this tiny arybalo... Aren't they cute? Everyone say "awe." Toodles all, see you soon. NCEFG firing next weekend!
